HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Happy Thanksgiving a day early! We're out in Cameron Park right now at my family's house enjoying the not-so-peaceful sounds of nephews running all over and wearing out the uncles! I wasn't originally going to say this, but Janae just reminded me how jealous i am that she's not involving me in choosing the stuff for the reception, but rather talking to my mom and my sister- that's what i get for being a groom. I'd imagine i have to go through this because she got to sit back and relax when we were all helping plan all of us come down to earth... or something. that was my pathetic attempt to make myself feel better. blah :)

Anyway... life is grand :) We got to fly together yesterday and planes are so much better when you don't have to worry about armrests! the back support still stinks, but that's another story. I was amused by an Audrey Hepburn movie that she brought... don't worry, Carey Grant was in it too. Anyway, we got our ENGAGEMENT PICTURES BACK! They're pretty amazing. Janae chose out her favorites and put them up on facebook, but if any of you were curious as to what the rest of them look like (there are many awkward looking ones- we basically made up all the poses ourselves), i'll link this blog to it. ENJOY!

It's official!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So now the world can know about it... the ring is on the finger! :) It only took us a couple weeks, and a little delay in the jewelry side of things, but we came out on top! I'll let her tell the story of how i asked if she wants to later on, but we're getting pictures taken this afternoon and getting more of the guest list done. We've got a lot ahead of us, but it's all fun stuff :) My roommate, James, got engaged last weekend as well- my apartment is disappearing!

Life is grand- we made it through midterms and such and have a week and a half til thanksgiving break! Yesssssssssssssss! We're still looking for a ride to California though. Anyone know of anyone else going to the Sacramento area that could use another two riders? :) Can't wait to see everyone at home!

Oh yeah! We got to go visit Becky this week! That's my little sister for those of you that don't know. She's going to school down the street and tearing it up! She's an amazing girl- just like all of the females in the Wallace family :) Janae is super excited to be one soon too! Anyway, busy-ness is ruling my life, so that's all for now. Take care, peoples!

Janae is still amazing- President Uchtdorf agrees

That's it! I'm going to write one of these... I'm pretty much the not-so-focused or talented-at-writing-on-the-computer one in this relationship, so you'll be seeing most of these things from her, but that's ok :) She's better than me at just about everything anyway. and there's a cool picture of her and President Uchtdorf which makes her that much cooler!!!

Anyway, we're still planning things and it's still a blast. We took her computer to Circuit City last night where the guy that wasn't there last time took one look at it and listened to our description of the problem and BOOM! all better... he uninstalled the fan drivers and they reinstalled automatically, so the fans worked again! good old windows vista and its built in driver software. Wow, this is the most computer geek that has come out of me since freshman year...

anyway, on the way there we passed bed, bath, and beyond and I suggested we go check out registering (yes, i suggested it. I'll man up to that!). IT WAS AMAZING! WAY TOO MUCH FUN! we got the scanning thing, explained our wedding plans to the really nice lady and she said aim for about 250 items- we had a hay-day! i wish we had taken a camera to show the expressions on our faces, but yeah, we are registered there now! :)

Our Pumpkins!

I know this is up kinda late, but I though Tim would like it if everyone could see our pumpkins. They were so FUN! Here are the pictures:

Here is Tim's pumpkin! T-I-double guh-errr!

And here's mine! Oogie Boogie!

We roasted the pumpkin seeds afterward and they were SO GOOD! I'm glad we didn't have too many because I would have gotten fat off of them. But I suppose that's ok because Tim says I should eat more and be pudgy. Oh well...

Yes or No?

Lately, I think Tim and I are really getting overwhelmed with all the things we have to plan and pay for. We're aware of the fact that we're saving so much money on a lot of things because of how helpful people are and how good we are at finding good deals...but at the same time...we don't even have the money for those things. Even those "cheap routes" are putting us beyond the amount we have to spend.

Tim was recalling the talks we've heard from so many LDS leaders that say we should avoid getting into debt by spending money we don't have for things we don't need. So, what do we really need for this wedding? As Tim was going over all the things that he was worried about paying for, I have to admit it really got to me. When it really came down to it, I knew that the most important part of this whole charade was the only thing I was sure about. We are going to get sealed to each other in the House of the Lord...because we love each other and we know that this is right. We are 100% sure that this is the right time. So, what other price should we put on that? A dress? Decorations? Invitations? Doesn't it all just seem a little ridiculous when you think of the true purpose of what we're planning for? I think so.

So the conclusion I came to was that I simply have no idea what I'm doing. I am pretty sure Tim feels the same way after we were talking last night. We know that one the one hand, Heavenly Father would not want us to make this just like any other day. And we know He understands our situation not only monetarily, but also the fact that everything my family will see will be on the outside of the temple. Based on that fact alone, I know we need to do something other than the sealing. But really...how much should I care about it? I'm just so lost. I think I'm officially starting to have my first panic attacks about wedding plans.

Does anyone have any tips?

Chim chiminey chim chiminey...

Sorry, I just wanted to put a cool title. I'm not really cleaning out chimneys....nor would I like to...but I do love Disney, especially the music! It calms me when I'm stressed. Especially when I'm singing along very loudly with Carrie in the car. And of course you have to include Tim in the back laughing at the fact that we know every single word to every song. It's priceless.

Oh good...Carrie just started playing some...ahhh. That's lovely. Oh Peetah, such a charmer. Peter Pan that is =)

Basically, I'm constantly refreshing the page that tells the California proposition results. Of course I am paying particular attention to proposition 8. It's funny...I wonder what I would have thought about this if I hadn't joined the church. The thought crosses my mind a lot about a lot of things, but this is just such a big issue, that I wonder if outside forces would have caused me to think differently. (If you're worried about my stress level, there's no need to fret...a Bambi song just came on.) I am pretty sure I would still have chosen to support "Yes on 8" but since I am so unsure even about how I would have reacted, it worries me to think how others will vote. Without the guidance of Heavenly Father, things like this are normal. What's wrong with homosexuals getting married when you don't know the word of God? Nothing. *sigh*

On a lighter note though...Pinnochio is playing now. In case you were wondering. Good thing I don't have strings either. That would be a hassle. Way to go Pinnochio. Way. To. Go.

Sparkles!

Hello all! Welcome to our new blog!

Uhh...I don't know how to start this...so I'm just going to tell you what we've been up to! We went shopping for a ring the other day. It was an interesting experience. We went to Goldsmith Jewelers and looked at every single case in the store. The guy was really nice and after a while, he figured out the type we liked, so it got easier with each section. I personally am not a big fan of making decisions quickly, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be...Tim could tell I didn't want to choose and he laughed at me a few times. What a punk.

We ended up picking the perfect one though! Yay! We'll post pictures as soon as it's done...we're pretty excited! We're probably going to wait to announce our engagement to the WORLD until we have it, but we've started all the planning for the wedding. If anyone wants to help, that would be excellent, because we seem to be a little confused about most things in this process =) We've made a list of what we need to figure out, and I got all freaked out this morning when I realized that we had to cram SO many things into this month! But then I remembered that everything would be ok because I rememberd exactly what we were planning for! This is so amazing and exciting! We're getting married! AH!
